UAE Corporate Tax: Registration deadline for individuals earning over Dh1 million from business activities

UAE Tax Authority Sets Registration Deadline for Sole Businesses and Unincorporated Partnerships

Dubai: The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has issued a reminder for individuals operating single-person businesses to register for corporate tax by March 31, 2025. This requirement also applies to individuals who are partners in unincorporated partnerships.

The first potential tax period for individuals conducting business activities aligns with the calendar year. Those exceeding a revenue threshold of Dh1 million in 2024 are classified as taxable persons. If this threshold is breached in subsequent years, these individuals must fulfill all corporate tax obligations.

The FTA defines a “natural person” as any individual residing in the UAE or abroad who engages in business activities. For example, if an individual generates revenue exceeding Dh1 million by July 31, 2024, they must submit their corporate tax registration application no later than March 31, 2025, and file their corporate tax return by September 30, 2025.
