Dubai: Haven’t updated your UAE tax records yet? You still have time to do so without facing penalties!
The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has announced a grace period for registrants who have yet to update their tax records, urging them to take advantage of the UAE Cabinet’s decision. This move allows businesses and individuals to amend their tax details without the risk of administrative penalties.
Supporting Business Growth
The initiative aims to ease the tax burden on businesses, encourage compliance, and further strengthen the UAE’s position as a business-friendly hub. The UAE Cabinet’s decision grants registrants the opportunity to update their tax records between January 1, 2024, and March 31, 2025. Previously, failing to notify the FTA of necessary amendments would have resulted in penalties.
Automatic Penalty Reversals
For those who incurred penalties from January 1, 2024, until the start of the grace period, the imposed fines will be automatically reversed—no action required from registrants.
What Should Registrants Do?
Businesses must notify the FTA of any changes within 20 business days using the approved form and mechanism. Updates may include:
- Business name and address
- Email address
- Trade license activities
- Legal entity type
- Partnership agreements for unincorporated partnerships
- Articles of association or equivalent
- Nature of business and operational addresses
